  •  Pitanga (Eugenia uniflora L.)

Known also as Surinam cherry, it is present in many tropical regions, including Brazil.

Brazilians appreciate pitanga as base for fresh juices and alcohol-free drinks, thanks to its aromatic taste.

Pitanga’s red coloring is due to high quantities of flavonoids, that ensure a good antioxidant activity. Moreover, pitanga contains good amounts of vitamin C and very high concentration of precursors of vitamin A.
